Here’s what caught my eye:Valve may be porting the Source engine to Linux.

Since last year,Valve Software began seeking a senior software engineer with the responsibility of porting Windows-based games to the Linux platform.

Source engine was born in 2004,based on the DirectX API,after several upgrades, support DX8.1,9.0,10.0,widely used in Valve games and authorized third parties, support Windows,X360,PS3 and other platforms.

So far,Half-Life Dedicated Server (Steam) Update Tool is the only works under linux.Linux players can only run their favorite games with WINE,Transgaming’s Cedega,CodeWeaver’s CrossOver Games, and other mechanisms.
