How to connect windows vista to xp using remote desktop?

on the xp machine - right click “my computer” in the window there will be a “remote” tab - go there and enable remote control - you will need to add credentials to a userid of the xp machine - then from the vista machine point your rdp client to the xp machne via the machine name or ip address and then supply the credentials that can remote control the xp machine.

    hi, gary,
    thx for the info!

the sales folks at dell told me i had to have the ’super-duper’ (i think it’s known as ‘ultimate’) version of vista to be able to remote-desktop-connect to an xp box.

do you know if the edition of vista really matters or not?
