System32/ntfs is corrupt or missing?
you dont have to reinstall windows.just boot your windows cd as if you are installing,then choose R,then use this link and follow “Windows XP users” version.

what youre really doing is copying the missing file from your xp cd to your hard drive.once its copied take out the xp cd and restart.
