Microsoft will close Book Search

Microsoft will close Live Search Books and Live Search Academic, stop scanning library and copyright books.Nearly 750,000 books and 80 million articles and reports had been classified on the web sites.

Google has a similar project, but still continue to operate,  more than 3,000 books are being added into the database every day.

Windows HPC Server 2008 Beta 2 Released

Windows HPC Server 2008 Beta 2 has been released.

The operating system mainly for the rapid growth of high-performance computing (HPC) market, which marks that Microsoft is in-depth on parallel computing market.

Windows HPC Server 2008, which is the development and extension of Windows Compute Cluster Server 2003 based on x64 versions of Windows Server 2008 (32-bit and ia64 hardware is not supported),will provide enhanced productivity, scalability and manageability.

The major updates:

More than 1,000 nodes has been tested and more than 1,000 Bug has been repaired
Add a series of new features

Microsoft has sold two million of Zune

Microsoft has revealed that it has sold two million of Zune since November 2006.They have accounted for only 3-4 percent of the market one and a half years, which cannot completely compare with iPod sales.

Microsoft has launched a new Version of Zune to stimulate buying, but it seems to be poor results,which new users will not choose Zune due to the influence of the iPod.
